Summer

As soon as I saw the new topic for this week, I thought of Ai Yamaguchi and ukiyo-e. I hate that I'm biting different styles, but I think of it as good practice for me as far as studying lines and shapes and color in order to develop my own style is concerned. Working with paint is a lesson of its own each time - I wish I would have had some painting classes in college so I could understand how to manipulate it better. The scan is pretty crappy because of the acrylic, but with the smaller image it's not so bad.

Your painting is pretty... never apologize for experimenting. My style flip flops weekly, and everything that influences my drawings builds and builds. Sometimes the results aren't exactly like I was hoping for, but every once in a while something emerges when I'm not "experimenting", when I just subconsciously whip out a few lines and it turns into something that I really like, something that is ME.
Nice take on the subject btw!
